2011 Jewelry
This is a series of work based on images that hark back to high school drafting class. These isometric drawings were given to students so that they could create working blueprints from them--top, front, side views. Jacquie Rice carried an old photocopy of these images around for years. We made fashion fabric and other textiles from them. Then I took them into jewelry, making a variety of pieces at different scales.
What appeals is the tromp l'oeil effect, where the 2D images suddenly pop into 3D.
